The arts, activism and innovation

We had special guests and celebrities joining us to talk about activism, the arts, innovation, and investment.

Featured guests and speakers included award-winning director Gina Prince-Bythewood, novelist and poet Leila Mottley, podcaster Sydnie Chandler Monet, writer Salamishah Tillet, philanthropists Yvonne L. Moore & Georgette “Gigi” Dixon, musicians Giah Bush, Girls Make Beats, and more!

Our second annual Black Girl Freedom Week

Special guests joined us to discuss how Black girls have led the way in culture, fashion, beauty, entrepreneurship and accountability.

Speakers included Tracee Ellis Ross, Sanaa Lathan, Eva Reign, Rashida Jones, activist Marley Dias, and philanthropists Susan L. Taylor, Dr. Ramatu Bangura, Lorelei Williams, Kenya Bryant, and more!

Our inaugural Black Girl Freedom Week

For our first BGFW, we focused on topics of safety, justice, healing and investment in Black girls and gender-expansive youth.

Speakers included Black girls and gender expansive Black youth from across the country, including student activist Naomi Wadler, as well as Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, actor/writer/producer Rashida Jones, DJ and artist Quiana Parks, Center for Disability Rights’ Dara Baldwin, Director of National Organizing at Girls for Gender Equity’s Toni Wilson, our Co-founders of Black Girl Freedom Fund, and many more!
